I The Mighty did not hold back a single thing for Karma Never Sleeps. This EP is huge. It's got catchy choruses and excellent technical-work in both the guitars and drums, reminiscent of The Receiving End of Sirens. Really, everything about this album feels tight.
Brent Walsh's vocals are also top notch, fitting right in with the huge sound of this album. I also really appreciated his meaningful lyrics, all surrounding the overall theme of Karma. The lyrics range from politics in "Cutting Room Floor" to a dreamy love story in "Dreamer". You can even find some pretty dark undertones in the final track, "Escalators", as a man reflects on his past life on his way to Hell. "Dancing on a Tightrope" is probably my favorite track on the album. There's some really great hooks and the lyrics are easily the most relatable on the album.
I'm definitely expecting big things to come from I The Mighty. The only downside to this EP is that it ends too quickly. Here's hoping we get a full-length soon!
